An awesome read. It was as if I could visualize everything like a movie as the author shared her experiences. The story was one that I could relate to and I know many others can too. It tells a story of how much a person’s environment can influence good or bad habits in a way that is so gradual that one does not know it’s happen until they are slap dab in the middle of it. It also shows the love and closeness of family, the good and bad. I’m going to have to buy the sequel.

I barely have time to sit down with a real book anymore. This book, however, I consumed in 1 day. Growing up in the ‘country’ of the Carolinas, I’ve experienced some of the same things. Slow country life versus the faster city life. The author brought many issues to light. I loved that she was transparent with divulging some early childhood behaviors that stemmed from rejection. So many can relate to these struggles and disparities. There are also great summaries and directives for help at the end of the book. Interesting read.
